May Day March to #KeepFamiliesinConcord
May 1 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
The housing crisis in the Bay Area affects every community. Concord is one of those communities that continues to see skyrocketing rents and unjust evictions. We have the opportunity to show our support and solidarity with those who are vulnerable to the insecurity of losing their homes. We can do that by showing up for the May Day March in Concord. We will gather at 5:00 p.m. in Meadow Homes Park (1351 Detroit Ave.) and march to Todos Santos Plaza.
Our friends at the Faith Alliance for a Moral Economy are making this call because they believe that honoring the dignity of God’s children means insuring that all of us have a safe and affordable place to call home. In our faiths standing with those who are vulnerable to losing their home is an act of witness. Those who were at their recent Prayer Service and Call to Accountability, heard stirring words pledging our support for those among us who suffer injustice and oppression, and a call to give life to those words. Showing up for this May Day March for Housing Security is a wonderful opportunity to do so.
If you are able to attend, please let Bob Lane of Faith Alliance for a Moral Economy know, so they will know how many folks to expect!! He can be reached at (925) 895-2345.
And please wear white to show solidarity with those experiencing the hardship of oppressive rents and arbitrary evictions!
