Traditional Christmas Eve Service here at FPCC is scheduled for 7 PM!
Our Christmas Eve service this year is a service of lessons and carols, adapted from the traditional English service, the Festival of Lessons and Carols celebrated at King’s College, Cambridge for over a century. The service features readings of brief scripture passages or “lessons” followed by a familiar Christmas carol. Each lesson highlights a part of the Advent journey from angels visiting Joseph in a dream to Christ’s coming as the light of the world. Each lesson is read by a different member of our congregation and all are invited to join in singing classic carols such as Away in a Manger and Angels We Have Heard on High. We will light candles to commemorate the end of Advent and the arrival of Christmas. Join us for a simple service of scripture, traditional music, and prayer to celebrate the season.
